Meet Mahnoor & Mahwish, Pak Squash Stars Win Gold At Australian Junior Open

Two remarkable young Pakistani squash players, Mahnoor Ali and Mahwish Ali, have soared to victory at the esteemed Australian Junior Open 2024. With the steadfast support of the Pakistan based Bilquis and Abdul Razak Dawood (BARD) Foundation, these budding athletes have not only won gold but have also ignited a ray of hope and inspiration for aspiring female sports stars across the country.

Held at the esteemed Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Albert Park, Victoria, the championship bore witness to the sheer prowess of Pakistani players across various age categories. Five exceptional Pakistani players, among them two inspiring Ali sisters, distinguished themselves by clinching gold medals in different age groups at the tournament.

Ali Sisters Dominance on the Court

Mahwish Ali, 15, and Mahnoor Ali, 11, showed their talent in different age categories. Mehwish Ali, a rising  star in Pakistani squash, proved her mettle by clinching the gold medal in the fiercely competitive U-17 category in the final against her Malaysian counterpart. Mah Noor Ali, the younger sibling, exhibited remarkable prowess in the U-13 category, seizing the top spot with finesse and flair. Her journey to the gold medal was marked by sheer talent  and intellect in the game, as she outplayed her opponents to claim the coveted title.

Both girls have a history of success in squash, with Mahwish having won 21 gold medals and Mahnoor securing 11 gold medals in various competitions, including prestigious titles  like the Asian Junior Gold Medal and the Scottish Junior Open Gold Medal

Abdul Razak Dawood, President of the BARD Foundation, lauded the achievements of Mahnoor Ali and Mahwish Ali, highlighting the limitless potential of Pakistani women and girls in the world of sports.
