A 27-year-old news anchor, Laura Warren, retaliated against a viewer who body shamed her in a blog post which has gone viral. A woman caller had told her that her pregnant body was ‘disgusting’ to see on TV.

Please go to Target and buy some decent maternity clothes so you don’t walk around looking like you got a watermelon strapped under your too tight outfits. Target’s got a great line of maternity clothes in case you’ve never heard of such a thing. You’re getting to where you’re being disgusting on the TV,” said the caller.

The call really hurt Warren. She wrote “Do I really look disgusting? Do I really look disgusting? What outfit is she talking about? Why did she call on Friday, I wasn’t even working Friday….did she boil over this all week and wait until I was off to leave me a voicemail? Oh crap, am I tearing up at my desk? NOT here. And, NOT over this.

Warren said that she could not stop thinking about the call. But the support she has gotten has helped her. She told ABC News that many people have told her not to listen to the woman.

She says she wrote the blog post because she wanted to start a discussion about how easy it is to dwell on one negative comment, instead of so many positive ones.

Warren even went through archives to review her outfits, to see which one could have spurred the negative comments.

In the blog, she talks about how she has picked a career which doesn’t allow any ‘ponytail’ days. She says that instead of letting this lady get her down, she is going to turn her negative energy into positive energy.

“I’m going to say as many nice things as I can to as many people as I can, and I’m going to do it in a dress that fits these beautiful new curves with my ‘watermelon’ stomach showing,” she said.
