Imagine you have a passion of riding bikes and you are one of those who want to spread the message about gender equality in society. Then the best way to do it of course is to combine these two passions and go conquer another male bastion.

The same idea motivated a group of women bikers in Mysuru, Karnataka. Five women from the city have geared up to spread awareness about gender equality and stopping atrocities against women in society in their own way – by riding their bikes and travelling across the state, TOI reported. These women are not only passionate bikers but also proud to be women passionate bikers in India.

"During the rally we met each other and decided to take up the task to spread message about the problems faced by the women. So, we formed women bike riding troupe three years ago. We chalked out the list of subjects related to women to raise our voice and spread awareness," Kanchana said to TOI.

The bikers even rode to Coorg along with a bike rider team from Bengaluru last year. They have also initiated several bike rallies to Chamundi Hills including the ones they are doing for the past 3 years.

The purpose is to promote female motorcyclists in India and celebrate gender equality, and spread the idea that women who face traditional gender dominance can break the system.  The bigger message is ‘freedom of women’.
