The Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested a 24-year-old woman who allegedly killed her boyfriend's 11-year-old son who, according to the accused, was a hindrance in their relationship.
The accused identified as Puja Kumari had an affair with the boy's father Jitendra and the two had started living together in 2019. But three years later, the man went back to his wife and son.
The police suspect this to have triggered Puja's temper which led her to murder the innocent boy.
Delhi: Angry Woman Kills Boyfriend's Son
Reportedly, Pooja Kumari and Jitender married at a temple of the Arya Samaj on October 17, 2019. But a court marriage was not possible as Jitender had not divorced his wife, police said.
On August 10, Puja asked one of their common friends to give her the address of Jitendra's Inderpuri residence. When she reached the given address she found the door of the house was not locked and there was no one in the house except the boy who was sleeping on the bed.
According to authorities, the woman strangled the sleeping boy and hid his body inside the bed box before taking out all the clothes from the bed box and fleeing the scene.
West Delhi police with the aid of CCTV cameras managed to identify the woman and started a search operation but the challenge was to find her. Inquiries at the woman's home led nowhere as she already had left her parents' home.
The police started tracking CCTV footage of around 300 cameras of Inderpuri and its neighbouring areas of Rishal Garden, Nihal Vihar, Ranhola, on Najafgarh-Nangloi road.
The investigating teams discovered that the woman was still in the area but was frequently changing hideouts despite which the police managed to nab her down.
The police managed to arrest the woman three days later and further investigations are underway.
