Being Harassed For Male Child, Woman Drowns Her Three-Month-Old Daughter In Water Tank
The police said that the woman was being repeated harassed by her husband and in-laws for a male child. The woman and her family lives in Sangharsh Sadan building in Ferbunder area of Kalachowky.
A 36-year-old woman in Kalachowki area of central Mumbai allegedly drowned her three-month-old daughter in a water tank at her home.

According to reports, the police said that the woman was being repeated harassed by her husband and in-laws for a male child. The woman and her family lives in Sangharsh Sadan building in Ferbunder area of Kalachowky. The woman had earlier claimed that her baby had been kidnapped by an unidentified woman on Tuesday who had come to her house and sedated her.
Woman Drowns Baby Girl In Water Tank:
The police had registered an FIR in the case and had also released a sketch of the unidentified suspect in the kidnapping case. After investigation in the case and reviewing the CCTV cameras installed in the area, the police called the complainant woman and her husband to the police station when they got more information the case.
After questing, the police asked the woman if she had killed her baby, that is when the woman reportedly broke down and confessed to the crime, a police official said. She allegedly confessed that she had thrown her infant daughter in a water tank and kept her body in the loft inside the house.
The police officials said that the woman had married her husband in 2011 and had given birth to a daughter in 2013. When she again got pregnant, her husband and in-laws allegedly used black magic to know the sex of the child and forced her to abort the baby. The woman was reportedly forced to undergo abortion three more times and the last time she got pregnant, she was allowed the continue the pregnancy.
The woman's in-laws made her undergo cesarean in August when she gave birth to a baby girl after which the family boycotted her, the official said.

As the woman was alone, her parents came to live with her, he said. The police retrieved the child's body from the water tank, the official said, adding that a further probe is underway.
