Priyanka Bala is a domestic Indian cricketer who plays for Indian Railways Women and Bengal Women as a wicketkeeper and batter. The highly anticipated Women's Premier League (WPL) Auction 2024 is set to unfold, with 165 players, a blend of 104 talented Indians and 61 overseas gems, waiting to go under the auctioneer's hammer. She was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for 20 lakh rupees at the Women's Premier League auction held on February 13, 2023, in Mumbai.

The WPL Auction 2024 promises a riveting spectacle as franchises aim to bolster their squads for the upcoming season. With 165 cricketers vying for the available 30 slots, including 9 overseas positions, the competition is fierce, and every bid is crucial in shaping the destiny of these players.

Priyanka Bala's Journey

Priyanka Prankrishna Bala was born in Betal, West Bengal, on September 30, 1995. She is a member of the Mohammedan Sporting Club in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Priyanka Bala is the domestic representative for Bengal women. Priyanka bats with her right hand and bowls with her right arm moderately quickly. Priyanka represented Mohun Bagan AC Women in the Byjus Bengal Women's T20 Blast in 2019. Priyanka Bala played for the CAB Yellow team in the quarterfinals of the 2021 CAB Women's One Day event, which was organised by the Cricket Association of Bengal. Priyanka hammered 71 (not out) runs off 81 balls to help her team reach a goal of 187 runs in 43.2 overs. She was selected Player of the Match for her performance.

She has also represented East Zone women.

The  Mumbai Indians team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, is currently a top contender in the Women's Premier League (WPL). Indiawin Sports, which also owns the men's squad, owns the women's team and paid 912.99 crores (110 million dollars) for the rights to own and run the Mumbai-based franchise in the Women's Premier League.

Charlotte Edwards is the team's coach, with Jhulan Goswami as their bowling coach and mentor and Devika Palshikar as their batting coach. Up until now, the Mumbai Indians have led the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 points standings, having won five and lost one of their six league matches. The team currently has ten points. The WPL Mumbai Team 2023 has a long history of producing world-class cricketers and is widely projected to be a title contender in this year's event. The team is made up of both experienced and inexperienced players.

The team is all set to play in the playoffs against UP Warriorz, a match that will decide whether or not it will reach the first-ever finals of the WPL.

The Delhi Capitals team is already through to the final, which is going to take place on March 24.
