Nisaba Godrej, currently the Executive Chairperson of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, will take over the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from Vivek Gambhir, who will step down on 30 June. "Vivek Gambhir, GCPL's current Managing Director and CEO, has resigned for personal reasons and will step down as Managing Director and CEO on June 30, 2020," GCPL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company said "Nisaba Godrej has been appointed as managing director from 1 July to 30 September 2022, subject to the approval of the shareholders at the annual general meeting. She will also continue to be the chairperson of the board till 31 March 2022 and designated as chairperson and managing director".

Nisaba Godrej was appointed as the Executive Chairperson of Godrej Consumer Products Limited(GCPL) on May 10, 2017. At that time, she became the youngest chairperson of a company whose consolidated revenue was Rs 9,600 crore. Nisaba is also a board member of Teach for India, an organization that provides education to underprivileged children.

Godrej has overseen various projects in innovation, strategy, and HR for Godrej Industries and its associate companies. She has a bachelor's degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s of business administration from Harvard Business School.

Known for her sharp business skills and strategies, she resumed from her maternity leave within a month after her son was born and used to take him to work by trying to strike a balance between her focus on work and personal life. She believed in being dedicated and committed to her work. She is also popular for a creating woman-friendly workplace. She has is in favour of facilities such as flexible hours, work-from-home options and a program that helps women who have dropped out of the workforce at midmanagement level to return, the Forbes quoted.
In Godrej Consumer Private Limited, Nisaba has worked in many capacities. Some of them include managing M&A, strategy, human capital, and innovation.
