How Clerical Error Led to Irreversible Divorce of Williams

According to reports by The Guardian, the mix-up happened when solicitors at Vardags, led by Ayesha Vardag, mistakenly submitted a final divorce order for Mr. and Mrs. William instead of another couple's. This error stemmed from an inadvertent click of the wrong button on an online portal used by the firm for legal proceedings.

The firm had soon realised its mistake  and the legal team moved to high court to revoke the divorce order but the court declined their plea mentioning how it is imperative for the law to uphold certain guidelines and the final verdict on a divorce order which was filed has been made and it would remain the same and the divorce of the couple, Mr. and Mrs. Williams stands.

Later on, the President of the Family Division, Judge McFarlane made clear that it is necessary to rectify and re-check these online legal platforms and make sure the cases being filed are taken care of by the  solicitors as the pitfalls of these legal systems can be harmful for the clients and people affected by it. The William V William case also highlights how necessary it is to make sure these online systems are thoroughly reviewed as these can lead to and in this case have led to damage to someone's personal life.
