Julia Roberts Set To Star In Apple's series, 'The Last Thing He Told Me'

Actor Julia Roberts is going to star in the upcoming Apple series The Last Thing He Told Me. This series will also be Roberts' another production venture after Amazon's Homecoming season one. Roberts will join hands with Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine over this project.

Based on the upcoming novel by Laura Dave of the same name, The Last Thing He Told Me is about a woman who goes on a journey to find her husband along with her teenage step-daughter. The novel is going to release in May 2021 by the publishing company Simon & Schuster, as per The Hollywood Reporter. The author, Laura Dave will work along with her husband Josh Singer, who has worked in Spotlight and First Man, in bringing the novel to screen.

Reportedly the novel was brought to Julia Roberts' attention by Reese Witherspoon's company, Hello Sunshine. The series was also auctioned among various OTT platforms out of which Apple won by bidding the highest. Hello Sunshine will produce the series along with Disney's 20th Television. This will be another high-profile show hailing from Hello Sunshine after The Morning Sow, Little Fires Everywhere, Big Little Lies. Just on Apple, Hello Sunshine has three more shows produced by them, Gugu Mbatha-Raw starter Surface, Truth Be Told and the upcoming show My Kind Of Country. Except for The Morning Show, most shows hailed by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine are originated from novels and stories and have a strong female narrative at the centre of it.

The other executive producers of the show are Laura Dave, Josh Singer, Lauren Neustadter, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan.

The Oscar-winning actor, Julia Roberts, made her debut in a television show with Amazon's Homecoming which also won her a nomination at Golden Globes. The actor is also associated with another show named Gaslit in which will star alongside Sean Penn, Armie Hammer, Joel Edgerton.
