"So, I just landed and you know the whole irony of this is that the guy... this is not done at all. This is not the way, this is not a girl should be made to feel because this is terrible. Is this how they are doing to take care of girls? No one will help us if we don't decide to help ourselves. This is the worst thing," she said in the Instagram live video.
The actor said that she couldn't get a clear shot of the man due to dim lights.
"Who is going to help us girls? If we don't help ourselves, nobody will come ahead" Zaira said at the end of her video.
Air Vistara said it is carrying out a detailed investigation into the case. The civil aviation ministry and aviation watchdog DGCA have sought details from Air Vistara over the incident, news agency ANI reported.
It also reported that a police officer visited the hotel where the actor is staying in Mumbai to record her statement this morning.
Former Jammu and Kashmir's Chief Minister took to twitter to condemn the incident and show solidarity for the 17 year old hailing from the same state.
