Jhulan Goswami To Be Felicitated By The Cricket Association of Bengal

The celebration continues for the achievements of the Indian women cricketers. fabulous performance. Now the Cricket Association of Bengal has decided to honour the pacer Jhulan Goswami with Rs 10 lakhs for her remarkable performance during the ICC Women's World Cup.

Goswami, has been named as the leading wicket-taker in Women’s One-Day Internationals. She will be felicitated at the CAB Annual Awards function on August 8.

"The Chief Minister (Mamata Banerjee) will be coming and we will felicitate Jhulan in a big way," former Indian captain and CAB President Sourav Ganguly told reporters.

"We are finalising the details but the cash awards will be in the tune of Rs 10," a CAB official told PTI.  Jhulan and the girls, lost the World Cup final to England by just nine runs. The Women in Blue were felicitated in New Delhi on Thursday by the Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel. Jhulan is scheduled to reach Kolkata by tomorrow evening.

Jhulan who grew up in Chakdaha in West Bengal is one of the most experienced players in the Indian side.  In the finals against England, she picked up 3 wickets in her 10 overs while giving away only 23 runs.

The 34-year-old fast bowler's valuable contribution during her tenure as the captain of the Indian Women's team will be forever cherished. Goswami’s new record as the highest wicket taker came about while she was playing her 153rd ODI match in South Africa. She finished 3 for 20 in 7.3 overs.
