While many of us buy lingerie online to avoid interacting with male shopkeepers, purchasing lingerie through a vending machine is a whole new concept. So it is hard to say just yet if it will be the most comfortable way of buying lingerie, but it sure is a novelty in India.

This will be India’s first ever lingerie vending machine to be installed in select locations in Mumbai. The brand will initially offer all-black collection, Be Mine, on display in the vending machine.

After the pilot project takes off in Mumbai, the Lingerie Shop will be taken to other cities. The vending machine will be stocked with pre-packaged lingerie products in multiple styles and sizes and will provide its customers with a variety of premium quality inner-wear.

"As we are a brand that advocates unconventionality and uniqueness, the need to make a statement is essential. Our aim is to break the mould in the Indian lingerie market by offering premium bespoke products with a twist," Goenka, founder of Lingerie Shop, said in a statement, reported India Today.

"Though primarily an online platform, we will bring to the market India's first ever lingerie vending machine. Women today desire a product that is both stylish and comfortable. Our brand has been conceptualised and created as an answer to this basic aspiration also with the added convenience," she added.

Although, lingerie is not something that people need on the go, it is interesting to see how this idea pans out. Since a large number of Indians are still not open to buying lingerie online because of the size and fit problem, having a vending machine does sound like a bizarre idea. But hey, you never know!
