Indian women pulling up socks for Hockey World League Round 2

The Indian women’s hockey team will start preparatory camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre in Bhopal. Starting this week, the camp will continue till Dec 7th and will be preparing the women for the Hockey World League Round 2 that will be held in New Delhi next year in March. Thirty-three women have been selected for the camp, reported Daiji World.

 

Indian chief coach Neil Hawgood told the website, “The camp will be a good learning experience for the team and I am sure through this the girls will be better prepared for what is coming next in their way. Post their Asian Games bronze, the entire team looks confident and ready to take on newer and bigger challenges. We will look at the camp giving us the perfect team for the upcoming tournaments.”

 

According to Daiji World, the selected goalkeepers are Yogita Bali, Savita and Rajni Etimarpu. The probable defenders will be Deep Grace Ekka, Deepika, Kirandeep Kaur, Sunita Lakra, Gurjit Kaur, Sushila Chanu, M.N. Ponnamma, Asunta Lakra, Joydeep Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, Manjit Kaur and Monika.

The Midfielders will be Ritu Rani, Namita Toppo, Chanchan Devi Thokchom, Lilima Minz, Liliy Chanu, Navjot Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Renuka Yadav and Sondarya Yendala. And the forwards are Vandana Katariya, Rani, Poonam Rani, Ritusha Arya, Punam Barla, Anupa Barla, Anuradha Devi, Navneet Kaur and Neha Goyal.
