Forces of Destiny, Highlighting the Women of Star Wars – Premieres This July
The trailer of the new animated shorts, The Forces of Destiny is finally out. Fans of Star Wars can rejoice because all their favourite Star Wars women are going to be featured in the series.
The shorts will be about 2-3 minutes long and will explore new adventures and storylines featuring female characters from the Star Wars – Rey, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, Princess Leia, and Ahsoka Tano and more. These badass women will be taking on the universe!
The micro-series will be launched in July and will be available on the Disney YouTube Channel. The series will also air on the Disney Channel in the fall. Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, said in an April press release,
“Star Wars Forces of Destiny is for anyone who has been inspired by Leia’s heroism, Rey’s courage, or Ahsoka’s tenacity. It is a fun new way for people to experience Star Wars.”
The series will include the voices of some prominent actors. The voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Ashley Eckstein, Tiya Sircar, Felicity Jones, Daisy Ridley and more will be the badass women from the Star Wars series.
The Forces of Destiny is all set to be a winner when it comes to depicting women characters in a large franchise such as Star Wars. The women don’t nearly get enough screen time, so this will be a sure shot way of expanding more on their characters, and of course we can’t wait to see the awesome animation and the voices of our favourite actors!
