Reflecting on her recent projects like Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Sam Bahadur, and the second season of Made in Heaven, Koechlin expresses her disappointment regarding the lack of representation of women over 40 on screen. She points out society's misconceptions about women in this age group, stating, "People are so harsh towards women over 40. They don’t know anything about women over 40. They don’t know what happens to our bodies; they don’t know much about menopause. That also because we are not writing about it."

Koechlin emphasises the importance of having women writers and directors bring these stories to the forefront. She said, "The stories about perimenopause, menopause, and the changing lifestyles of women in their later years." Drawing a comparison to Hollywood, where stars like Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, and Cindy Crawford share their experiences, she expresses the need for similar representation in Indian cinema.

She concluded by expressing her appreciation for those individuals who share such stories, noting that it is uplifting to witness their efforts. She emphasised the need for more such narratives in India, highlighting the importance of amplifying the voices and experiences of women in various stages of life.

Furthermore, SheThePeople is actively working to raise awareness and honour women aged 40 and above. Through it's exclusive event, the 40 Over 40 Awards, SheThePeople recently recognised women who have made significant contributions by challenging norms and fostering positive transformations in their respective domains. These individuals, navigating through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, shared their experiences and achievements, inspiring others and breaking barriers of age, gender, and societal stereotypes through their past and ongoing endeavours.
