Feminist Rani

Firebrand. Fierce. Free

It starts with bias and becomes harassment. The shocking truth about the startup community in India is that clannish, sexist and egoistic men predominantly run it. They’ve created an eco-system where women entrepreneurs are expected to offer sexual favors in exchange for funding and made to believe that sexism is normal.

These startling biases have to end. This macho culture has to end. Women have to be encouraged to speak up about sexual harassment. Start-ups have to follow POSH laws, create awareness and sensitization, and reduce the feeble gender diversity ratios. As a society, we have to stop making sexism in startups a taboo subject and have it become a mainstream conversation.

A small step forward in this much-needed change will be this month’s Feminist Rani, where we will be joined by renowned author Rashmi Bansal, Priyanka Agarwal (CEO, Wishberry), and Ruchita Dar Shah, (Founder, First Mom's Club) moderated by author Meghna Pant.
