She stepped in and questioned the gang as to what they were doing. She even threatened to call the cops, but they were unfazed by her questions. The men in the car threatened her right back, saying, “Isko drop kar denge kahin zyada bolegi toh tereko bhi kahin le jayenge (We will drop her somewhere and if you talk too much we will also take you along)."

HKV Tweets Tweet Account of girl's chilling encounter

The tweet thread is a terrifying pointer to how gangs of boys may function in popular hangout spots like Hauz Khas where men and women party alike. It is when women come out at late hours that these men target a girl and abduct her with the intention of sexual assault?  “They looked like they knew what they were doing. HKV is a place where lotsa women come & get drunk esp Wednesdays coz ladies nights. These were guys who very methodically had a plan to abduct & rape a woman. They weren't doing it on impulse. They came here for this,” she wrote.

She also described how the police wasn’t active on the stretch she was at in Hauz Khas and were mostly checking on the main road. The detailed account of this girl’s encounter with potential rapists caught the attention of Delhi Police who replied to one of her tweets saying she is welcome to report the incident in this regard. However, the woman chose to request the police to take a suo motu cognizance of it by checking the CCTV footage of the area which has all the details.

A female bouncer who works at Social, Hauz Khaz, Mehrunissa, tells SheThePeople.TV that many more bouncers out on the streets are required to minimize crimes against women. "I have witnessed these situations myself and imagine I am a bouncer. Many times when I am walking on streets of Hauz Khaz, men lurking around eve tease by saying 'Aye aaja gaadi mein baith ja' but I am well aware of how to deal with such creeps. It is a concerning problem since these men feel that girls are objects and drunken girls more so who they can use and throw. These men must be taught a strict lesson."
