Social media is completely abuzz with the new Startup India campaign by the Narendra Modi led Central government. And what’s even more exciting is the sizable number of female entrepreneurs participating in the #StartUpDay launch on 16th January. To recognise the spirit of women leaders in entrepreneurship, there will be a panel discussion focus on how women can change India's startup success story- “Celebrating Women: Stories of Innovative Women Entrepreneurs.” The panel will put the spotlight on how the women entrepreneurs took the plunge and made it big on their own.

The panel will have Founders like Nidhi Agarawal of Kaaryah, Anisha Singh of Mydala, Shanti Mohan of LetsVenture, Pranshu Bhandari of Culture Alley and Sairee Chahal of Sheroes. It will be moderated by journalist-turned-entrepreneur, Shaili Chopra. All these women have converted their ideas into successful ventures. All these startups are innovative in their own way and are a product out of the need they saw in the society which the founders fulfilled.

The startup India campaign is an initiative by the government to get a large chunk of start-ups together to inspire and encourage more aspiring entrepreneurs. The Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Amitabh Kant, who is trailblazing the huge campaign, firmly believes “women have an edge over males in entrepreneurship, this edge matters to investors,” as he wrote tweeted.

About the pace with which India can grow if women are to come into the money-making business he asserted, “India can grow at over 10-11% if we include women in the economic process," with his passionate belief that women are a big part of Make in India, as reported by DNA.

India may be in the beginning days of start-ups, but the scenario is changing in a faster pace because of female inclusion into entrepreneurship. Now is the time when we are seeing more women to take charge. The #StartupIndia launch will be felicitated by the presence of the Prime Minister, who will boost the founders and shed light on the initiative. He will also be sharing a discussion with some of the female entrepreneurs.
