She tweeted about her move to The White House, with a photograph of the Washington Monument as seen from the Red Room.

Barron will be the first boy to live in the White House since three-year-old John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1963.

Melania has been criticised for being under the radar, and not taking up projects and causes of her own. It cost New York City upto $1 million a day to ensure her protection.

The Trumps' marriage has also been under scrutiny. Pictures show the first lady swatting away Trump’s hand as the couple arrived in Israel last month. Trump also ignored his wife while greeting Barack and Michelle Obama on the White House steps on Inauguration day.

Melania is a model, who is originally from Slovenia. She studied to be an architect before moving to New York. She married Trump in 2005, and gave birth to Barron in 2006.

She is the first First Lady to arrive at the White House so late.

The First Lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, says, "The First Lady is very excited about this chapter in their lives. She recognizes this as the true honour that it is, and looks forward to their years ahead in the White House."

A big part of the First Lady job is having a campaign that she cares about, being present at official functions, and performing ceremonial duties. The job is unpaid and is considered an ‘office of honour'.

Melania has indicated that she might take on the cause of cyberbullying and harassment, but we will have to wait and watch.
